Setting up 2-factor authentication without a mobile device

Mintago recommends using a mobile device for 2-factor authentication as covered in this help article.

Mintago does not guarantee the security of the below third party Chrome Plugin. Using it is not Mintago's recommended approach.

Step 1 - Install the authenticator.cc Chrome extension

Install authenticator.cc in Chrome by following the on-screen instructions.

Step 2 - Set up 2-factor authentication

  1. Open auth.mintago.com

  2. Log in using your magic link

  3. When presented with the 2FA enrolment screen, copy the code in the grey box

  4. Open the authenticator.cc Chrome plugin

  5. Add the new 2FA code using "Manual entry"

  6. Paste the code into the "secret" box (the issuer should be "Mintago")

  7. Press "Ok"

  8. Copy the 6 digit code that will now be shown to you

  9. Paste the 6 digit code into the 2FA enrolment screen in Mintago

You will now be logged in, and you have set up 2FA successfully.
