2-factor authentication (2FA) is an essential security feature of Mintago that helps to keep your data secure.

2FA works by generating a unique code on your phone that you will then use to access to Mintago.

Please note, 2FA is only available to administrators.

πŸ“Œ You will need to use this 2FA app every time you log into Mintago, so please add it to your phone's home screen.

Step 1 - Getting a 2FA app

πŸ“±If you already have a 2FA app installed, you can use that and you do not need to install a new 2FA app.

If you already have a 2FA app, please skip step 1.

To use 2FA, you will need a 2FA app installed on your phone.

  1. Open the App Store on iPhone, or Play Store on Android

  2. Search for a 2FA app

    1. We recommend using either "Authenticator" by Google or "Authy" by Twilio

  3. Install the 2FA app

  4. Add the 2FA app to the home screen of your phone, you will need it every time you login to Mintago

  5. Open the 2FA app

Specific guidance for Google Authenticator can be found here.

Specific guidance for Twilio Authy can be found here.

Step 2 - Adding your Mintago 2FA code

Once you have downloaded your authenticator app, and you have completed the steps outlines in the How to log in, you will be presented with this screen.

  1. Open your 2FA app

  2. In your 2FA app, tap the "+" icon

  3. Tap "scan QR code"

  4. Scan the QR code on your screen

  5. Save the new account

  6. Enter the 6 digit number into the "Enter your code" box

  7. Press "Submit"

Summary

You've just set up 2FA for Mintago. This helps to keep your data secure. Please add the 2FA app you just used to your phone's home screen. You will need this every time you login to Mintago.
