Launch
On the day of your launch presentation or pre recorded video, your employees will receive two key emails. The first is an Activation Email, welcoming them to the platform and giving them access to the platform. The second is the Consultation Letter or Pension Salary Sacrifice email. This explains exactly what Pension Salary Sacrifice is. It also clearly states we are not changing your current pension provider, nor are we changing the amount employees contribute to their pension. This is an opt-out scheme, designed to be as seamless as possible.
Consultation period
From the day employees receive the pension email, they have 30 days to decide if they want to move across to pension salary sacrifice or not. If an employee reads the email and is happy to proceed, they don’t need to do a thing - they will automatically move over to the PSS setup at the end of the 30 day consultation period. If someone prefers to stay on their current setup, they simply complete the opt-out form linked in the email
Contracts for new joiners
Since this is a formal business change, every current employee will receive the pension salary sacrifice email.. For anyone joining the company after the Mintago launch, you’ll just need to include a short paragraph in your contracts going forward stating that your pension operates via salary sacrifice. To make this easy, we’ll provide you with a ready-to-use template.
Payroll guidance
Finally, toward the end of your 30-day consultation period, our payroll team will send over detailed Guidance Notes. These provide step-by-step instructions on how to update your payroll software. If you have anybody who has decided to opt out, we will also let you know who they are.
